¡Hemos ganado un premio!

Meaningful Tourism Award 2022 ha otorgado a la Fundación Panameña de Turismo Sostenible (APTSO) un premio por el programa PACTO.

Nos enorgullece anunciar que el jurado del Meaningful Tourism Award 2022 ha elegido a la APTSO como ganadora del Premio de Bronce en la categoría Organizaciones/Gobiernos.

Los nombres de los 18 ganadores de los premios se revelaron durante el panel de Meaningful Tourism en la ITB ASIA de Singapur.

El director general del Meaningful Tourism Center, organizador del Premio, el Prof. Dr. Arlt, declaró: “Estamos encantados de ver cómo muchas partes interesadas de todo el mundo han empezado a crear nuevos enfoques del turismo. No ver al cliente como el rey, ni concentrarse en el beneficio a corto plazo y tampoco tratar las cuestiones medioambientales como la única preocupación creará un futuro positivo para la industria. La tarea no consiste en “equilibrar” los intereses de las distintas partes interesadas, sino en alinearlos de forma que beneficien y satisfagan los intereses de todas ellas. Las empresas y organizaciones seleccionadas pueden considerarse a sí mismas como la vanguardia del desarrollo turístico del futuro”.

Esta ha sido la primera edición del Meaningful Tourism Award, que en el futuro se organizará anualmente.

The Meaningful Tourism Center (El Centro de Turismo Significativo) tiene su sede en Hamburgo con varias representaciones regionales y ofrece formaciones, publicaciones y talleres para organizaciones privadas y públicas que ven la necesidad de avanzar hacia un Turismo Significativo.

“Este premio es para Panamá y para todos los participantes de la Alianza Panameña para el Turismo Comunitario (PACTO): para las 10 comunidades participantes, la Autoridad Panameña de Turismo, la Fundación Natura, el GEF/PNUD, nuestra junta directiva y los colegas internacionales y locales por apoyar nuestra visión e inspirarnos”, señalo Annie Young, Presidenta de  APTSO.

We won an Award!

Meaningful Tourism Award 2022 given to Fundación Panameña de Turismo Sostenible (APTSO).

We are proud to announce that the jury of the Meaningful Tourism Award 2022 has chosen APTSO as a Bronze Award winner in the category  of Organisations/Governments.

The names of the 18 Award winners were revealed during the Meaningful Tourism Panel at the ITB ASIA in Singapore.

The CEO of the Meaningful Tourism Center, the organizer of the Award, Prof. Dr. Arlt stated: “We are delighted to see how many stakeholders around the world have started to create new approaches to tourism. Neither to see the customer as king nor to concentrate on short-term profit and not treating environmental issues as the only concern will create a positive future for the industry. The task is not to ‘balance’ the different stakeholders’ interests, but to align them in a way that benefits and satisfies the interests of all stakeholders. The companies and organizations selected can consider themselves as being among the avant-garde of tomorrow’s tourism development.”

This was the first edition of the Meaningful Tourism Award, which will in the future be organised annually.  The Meaningful Tourism Center is based in Hamburg with several regional representations and offers trainings, publications and workshops for private and public organizations which see the need to move forward to a Meaningful Tourism.

This award is for Panama and for all the participants of the Panama Alliance for Community Tourism (PACTO):  the Panamanian Authority of Tourism, Fundación Natura, GEF/UNDP, our board,  our partners, and the 10 participant communities for inspiring us, states Annie Young, President of APTSO.
